The model depicts the aircraft as flown by the official top RCAF ace with 19 kills, S/L "Wally" McLeod, on D-Day. Of those 19 kills, 13 were downed over Malta. However, unlike his contemporary, "Buzz" Beurling, McLeod was an acknowledged leader. He was declared KIA, September 1944.
Decals are from a sheet on "Canadian Aces", produced by IPMS/Canada for it's members. The sheet contains both 1/72 and 1/48 markings covering 6 aces and 11 aircraft.
