1/48 Bristol Beaufighter TFX, from 236 Sqn., RAF

This model represents a Bristol Beaufighter TFX of RAF Coastal Command as it might have been seen in May of 1944.

In addition to the 1/48 scale Tamiya kit I've added a few details. These are comprised of :

brass wire cowl braces,
a resin dorsal fin extension and rudder,
resin cowl flaps (open),
a resin interior detail set,
and antenna wire.

I've also separated the elevators from the horizontal stabs and reworked them. They droop about five degrees with the control column being in the appropriate position.

In order to show the interior I've opened up the gunner/navigator's dorsal hatch.

The main wheels were slightly flattened with a hot iron.

There were no fit problems with the kit or the resin add ons from Cutting Edge, KMC, and Belcher.

Decals were bits and pieces from my decal file.
