Model Clubs

We, in and around Toronto, are lucky to have a number of modelling clubs, and even more surprising is the fact that we get along well togther. Rather than being offshoots from disagreements, we prefer to think and work as a large happy family:

Toronto Area Hobby Shops

Toronto area modellers are a truely blessed lot. We have a wealth of excellent local hobby shops, which stock anything from the latest and greatest bits of resin and photoetched brass from around the world, to those wonderful old kits you remember from your youth, that you thought you'd never find. While much of the world has to model by mailorder, we seem to have it all, right at our fingertips. And, of course, if you come up with something not already in stock, many of our hobby shops do double duty, working as mailorder suppliers too, so they are happy to get it for you.

Aviation World

As the name implies, aviation is their focus. They carry almost everything imaginable that is aviation oriented, including a huge selection of books, magazines, and aviation novelties, plus of course, kits, decals, aftermarket items and other modelling supplies."

Crossbuck Hobbies
A newish, small shop, in Pickering, just off the highway. They don't have a large selection of models, yet, and do lean towards trains, and train accessories, but they growing and are more than willing to listen to what people want.
If friendliness and a good atmosphere count for anything, they will need larger premises soon.

Dailey Hobbies
Randy Frost and his wife icki opened this shop in late 2006, in Whitby. They carry a good selection of Aircraft, armour, ships, figures, Sci-fi, and cars in plastic, as well as a good mix of aftermarket. We also carry a good selection of Model Railway, in both "N", and "HO". We have 9 different paint racks, from Testor's PLA, to Vallejo. we carry Evergreen plastic, K and S metal, and wide selection of tools, and resin casting supplies, as well as WARHAMMER, slotcars, rockets, some diecast.
As a related note, they have been around as Perry's Resin for the last 20 years.

Hornet Hobbies
An all-around hobby shop featurung trains, plastic , die-cast, etc., as well as a good stock of accessories.
Dave and Sherry Browne are pretty much insitutions in the Toronto area modeling world, and are always cheerful. Remember to say ``Hi'' to Jenny and give her a pat as she guards the front of the counter.

North Star Hobbies

If Sheldon doesn't stock it, it isn't being made (but he can probably get it for you...). Models and some HO train accessories, and every kind of paint, add-on, conversion, after market detail, tool, etc.
